JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant


Responsible for communicating with Clients in English and in writing & speaking Mandarin Chinese with Chinese-speaking-only clients about complex tax matters/terms; Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, adjusting journal entries, and month-end or year-end book closing based on GAAP; Use QuickBooks to perform payroll and payroll tax filing following federal and multi-states regulations; Work with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access to prepare monthly sales report and sales tax return in multi-states; Work with Ultra Tax CS, Fixed Assets CS, Planner CS and Creative Solutions Accounting to develop tax projections, perform tax planning, tax compliance, and tax filings, and ensure compliance with payments, reports or other tax requirements for individuals, corporation, partnerships and fiduciary entities on a timely basis; Responsible for communicating with IRS and local government department regarding the notice either by phone call or by written responses letters; Prepare preliminary review of budgets and prepare draft periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs for the assigned clients; Responsible for reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances; Help clients establish, dissolve companies and apply for business licenses in multi-states following federal and state regulations; Perform financial statement analysis and valuations of corporations and business using multiple valuation methodologies; Provide detailed explanation of finding after examining and preparing financial documentation and preparing written reports for both English-speaking and Chinese-speaking-only clients; Conduct research on advanced tax and accounting laws and regulations; and responsible for researching for U.S. and China tax topic assigned; Responsible for explaining US vs China accounting and tax differences to Chinese-speaking-only clients both from Individual and Corporate levels; Suggest methods to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and improve profits for both English-speaking and Chinese-speaking-only clients; Perform preliminary analysis of the business operations, trends, costs, revenue, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice as per client’s request in both English and Chinese.


Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting plus at least six months of post-baccalaureate experience. Foreign degree equivalent is acceptable. We will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience. Must be Proficient in Mandarin Chinese writing, reading and speaking (native speaking proficiency level). Experience to include at least 6 months' working with QuickBooks; Microsoft Excel; Payroll processing; financial reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statement; advanced tax and accounting laws and regulations research; China accounting and tax laws & regulations; GAAP; Discuss tax issues with IRS and local tax department for clients.
